I had been having muscle pain in my shoulder blade, and I was referred by my mom. After being seen and one physical therapy visit, the pain has lessened, and it feels so much better. Great staff who took the time to listen and pin pointed where the pain was at and made a plan for me.

So far, so good. It's not been long since I've been going to CRPA, but I do get the feeling that I am at the right place. Everyone there seems genuinely intent on getting me to a better place with managing my pain. From my cervical epidural steroid injection to physical therapy, everyone communicates "next steps" effectively. They really listen to me and convey positivity and encouragement about my treatment. I'm very happy at this point.

I started there in January 2024 for extreme lower back pain that over time they have improved it at least 90%! They also have worked on my neck pain greatly improved. If I were a younger person improved rate perhaps could be 100%, but I'm in the 3rd quarter of life. Highly recommend them because they have so much under one roof, medical, PT, chiropractic and probably some I don't know. Staff is outstanding.

The check-processing was quick and straightforward. Today had trigger points injections. These injections really helped a few months ago I had pain between 5 to 6 after few times getting injections went to 0 to 1 pain. It’s also important to follow physical therapy routine daily. So 2 thumbs up. I recommend you come and do visitation very professionally done and guide you through best procedure.

I took my 90 year old Dad here to see if they would be able to help with his severe back pain. We have had the first trigger point injections and a chiropractic visit. The staff explained the procedure well and made sure we knew about out of pocket costs. I really liked that they have many different things to try if the current plan doesn’t work for him. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has pain that isn’t getting any better. They are very busy but seem to really try to accommodate your needs when scheduling appointments. The staff is awesome!

I had an epidermal injection due to arthritis and severe pain in my left shoulder. By the next day, I was pain free. They're very kind, and they explained to me exactly what they were doing so that I could understand it. They're professional, and they listened to my concerns. The folks at the pain clinic are very nice and one thing I have noticed they are concerned about your well-being. The only thing for me was that I had forgot that my regular chiropractor DR. Gillis was on vacation seen another one was not pleased at all I feel like I had never been adjusted expressed that to the medical doctor yesterday. I will never do that again. Otherwise I like all the folks at the clinic.

I have been going to the this pain management clinic for many years. They are amazing. They always suggest new things to try to alleviate my pain. When I first started I had so much pain from fibromyalgia working and taking care of normal tasks are home was becoming hard to do. Shelly and I went through different meds until we found the magic combination. They also took care of my bad arthritic pain. After my stroke the pain was different. Megan and Shelly found ways to manage that pain as well. I don't believe I could manage day to day without them.

I liked how through Kent was on my evaluation. He explained things to my satisfaction.

The staff is always courtesy and professional. The office is always busy. The nurses and chiropractors are excellent. 10 out of 10.

My experience at CR Pain Associates has been nothing but exceptional from day one! The physical therapists are wonderful, my chiropractor literally works magic, the techs are all so kind and the front desk staff is always smiling when you walk in. The thing I love the most about CR Pain Associates is that no one ever made me feel that my pain was untreatable, or that it's not as bad as I think it is. I have never felt that anyone ever judged me for the pain I was explaining or doubted anything I was saying. And that right there is THE DIFFERENCE for anyone who suffers from chronic pain. After 6 weeks of treatment, I'm not completely pain free, but my pain is definitely better. They promised they would do their best to improve my pain, and so far, I am not dissatisfied. This week I see my wonderful nurse practitioner to see what my next steps are in treatment.

Over 3 months ago I started going to Dr Gillis with back, neck and scapula pain and I feel like a new person.....unbelievable adjustments I receive each time. I’ve been going to Cedar Rapids Pain Assoc for about 5 yrs. They greet you by name at the door, especially “that Becky” lol, she is my favorite face to welcome me! They are always very flexible and friendly accommodating my busy schedule. The pain I’ve had from many years in the medical field is managed better than it ever has been. They have a variety of options for treatment plans the nurse practitioners will custom fit for each patient including PT and Chiro care. The added bonus is you do not need a referral to receive relief from this team of professionals. With the latest treatments and state of art equipment CR Pain Assoc receives my high recommendation!

CRPA is the best place I have ever been to as far as pain management. As a veteran I have been fighting the VA for months just to get some type of relief for my herniated disc in c5,c6,c7. I was experiencing migraines, vomiting, many days of missed work. Shelly and the rest of the team not only advocated on my behalf through the VA they supported me the whole way. From pin point injections out of pocket to pin point injections and an epidural paid by the VA. This whole ride has been the worst experience through the VA. Thanks to the CRPA team, not only did they have my back "literally lol" , they made me feel welcomed . For me personally, every visit I made, they exceeded my standards. Theres nobody in the state of Iowa that can compete! Hands down! Thank you again Team. You have no idea what your dedication means to me.

The staff here is amazing! They are caring, tell you how it is (no sugar coating), and always have a smile on their faces. My last visit on 7/15/22 was at 830am. I live in Dubuque, so I left home at 7. I didn't grab anything to eat before or during my journey. I got a cortisone shot in my knee (not my first time and I'm used to being a pin cushion) and I got really light headed after she was done. I passed out for the first time in my life. When I woke up I was now laying on the table with arms around me and a voice asking if I was still with them and if I was OK. Those ladies were amazing. They sat me up, gave me a trash bin, got me crackers and juice, got me a cool towel and fan, and stayed in the room to make sure I was good. They never made me feel undignified or like I was a problem, they only cared for me and I could tell there was genuine concern. Thank you for being so fantastic! *3/30/2024 Update: Things haven't changed one bit... they are still wonderful! I called on Wednesday after my knee had been very sore and was able to get an appointment for Friday. We still joke about me passing out and I always have fun while I'm there. That's right, FUN, at a doctor's office!

I was a mess after a vacation. Was able to get in pretty quick and the found I have an issue with my neck -arthritis and pinched nerves. They were thorough and presented all the options to treat it. We attacked it agressively and Im at 90% at times 100%. I have no delusion of always being at 100%. Im not young and have been hard on my body with ports and military. But the blend of physical therapy , laser, and pain injections and Im back to working out and doing what I normally do. If you listen and follow their program you shouldnt be disappointed.

What the clinic and staff have done for me is truly life changing! After 15 years as a CNA and restorative aide, my low back pain became so intense it radiated down my legs. I could only stand for a maximum of 15 minutes before my legs and feet would go completely numb.Through physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, trigger point injections, and most recently, 12 sessions of laser therapy, I have a whole new life! If you are toying with the idea of laser therapy, do not hesitate! Completely painless and after my second session, I could touch my toes again. I had not been able to do that in years.

After 2 yrs. of constant low back and leg pain I decided to give them a try and was hesitant since I'd had unsuccessful physical therapy in the past and surgeon suggested fusions. The staff are professional yet down to earth and explain everything in terms I can understand. The therapy is careful and precise to my needs. My 1st day of therapy, I went home with 60% less pain than I'd had in 2 yrs.. I attest to that. I'm not one to leave a review unless I'm certain of my words.

They have a whole pain management plan, not just giving you a shot and pushing you out the door. Saw me the same day as I was in extreme pain. Talked to me about long-term pain management. Will be my permanent pain management specialist for any further issues.

They offer medical, physical therapy and chiropractic- I see them all and they are very wonderful. They get to know their patients and offer individual care tailored specifically for you. My chiropractor Kara is amazing! I’ve gone to chiropractors since I was 14 and I’m now 41 and she’s the best chiropractor I’ve had! When I came to pain associates this time my pain level was a 7 out of ten and by the time my treatment was finished it was. 0 out of 10! I highly recommend them!

I had my new patient initial visit and it exceeded my expectations. The front desk was extremely helpful with scheduling. They went out of their way to find me appointments that would work with my schedule and even found me appointments for PT and Chiro for that very same day. Each provider was educative, kind, knowledgeable, and really listened to what issues I was experiencing. I just had my first real solid block of sleep in years and I am forever grateful for the support and services I received!

Hadn't been there for awhile. Everyone was as nice and friendly as I remembered. I saw the chiropractor because I was having terrible pain in my neck he got it to Crack two times really well and I was amazed at how much it helped. I've made up my mind to keep going.

I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and the treatment that was prescribed for me relieved my pain in less than 24 hours. I had an excellent visit with Dr.Brett Bov'ee. He has a very good way of explaining your treatment plan. Of course I am bias as I am his oldest sister, but I wouldn't want anybody else taking care of me! He gets my neck to move and I have a very difficult one to adjust. Please give ymthe C.R. Pain Associates a chance. You won't regret it! 💜

If you have pain, this is the place to go. They scheduled me within a day of calling and began to treat the back and sciatic pain immediately. I saw a very knowledgeable nurse practitioner, had massage and tens unit treatment, got X-rays and saw Dr Bovee (their in house Chiropractor) all during my first visit. They then schedule you again within a short time period. No waiting weeks to get help. Highly recommend!

I have been a patient since they opened. The staff at pain associates kept me walking and as pain free as possible for years, with A combined approach of medical, chiropractic and physical therapy. When I could no longer avoid surgery this year Dr Bovett, Shelly Donahue and the entire staff were totally supportive. I go see Dr. Bovett for adjustments and the whole staff tell me how glad they are at how well I am doing. I am so happy to have chosen them many years ago to manage my pain.

Megan, Ella and Shelly did a complete restoration on my back. I thought I was running late for my apt but turns out I was a week early! They found a way to get me in since I was there and performed what I needed without batting an eye! They were all so kind and professional! They listened to my needs and took care of all my concerns! Cedar Rapids Pain Associates is a one stop shop. Saw Shelly ARNP she was very straightforward and very helpful. I did not need to have a follow up appointment at this time. But if needed would definitely go back. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful!

I think this place is great. I have no complaints at all. Ben is a great Chiropractor. I have never went to a chiropractor in my life and was scared, but boy when he started adjusting my back and trying each visit to keep things straight was amazing. I love the Physical Therapists and the ARNP, PA, and nurses were great, very nice to get along with and always talked everything through that was perfect. I had injections and different treatments. The Massage Chairs were good until they started to break down, but that is bound to happen with all the patients they run through there. I will continue to see them even after my arm surgery. Thanks Pain Associates. Give yourselves a pat on your backs.

Been coming here for a long time. Jeff is so nice and so are the physical therapists. I always come back here. Not sure why everyone is complaining about the massage chair. The whole point is to keep your muscles loose with the tins unit either before or after getting your adjustment. It's sort of common sense and it feels nice. Some people can't afford massage chairs so they can get it here while getting theor adjustments. Don't like it, don't come back. People will complain about anything. 😐

I have been in sever pain for over 6 months and finally came here and within 2 hours left there with 80% pain reduction and 100% by end of day and the staff were incredible they went out of their way to make me feel better

When I had my 1st appointment I could barely walk. They started with a care plan designed specifically for me. I've been seeing these people for about 6 months and I'm doing much better now than I was 6 months ago. I have a long road of recovery from a back injury, but these people listen, understand and care. They also didn't try to shove pain meds down my throat and brush off my injury like other doctors have. The Chiropractor there is also very good and he too cares about his patients as people. I feel like a person and not a number. I'm greeted by my name when I walk in the door. I truly believe these people care about their patients and their pain. Thank you CRPA for taking the time to get to the root of the problem and get me back to living a quality life!

I like how they treat you as an individual and not a number my treatment has been designed for me and with my multiple injuries I need a less invasive way to address my issues and pain associates dose that in a personal and professional way.

I vehemently disagree with JS. I have a bulging lumbar disc and if it wasn't for Dr. Matthew Bigerstaff, Dr. Jeff Mitchell, and Melissa Vanderberg, A.R.N.P., I wouldn't be walking today. Every three months I have a steroidal epidural to control the pain. If I didn't have the epidurals, I would have to have spinal surgery. The less you have to operate on the spine, the better the outcome. Needless to say, I am sold on them! Marilyn Valley
